Some Programs in
Windows to help you.
To make things more
convenient for you, Microsoft Windows System comes with some
programs that may be helpful for your business. We have listed
them free for you with simple instructions on how to use them.

For Windows XP

Address Book |
|
Location: Start --> All Programs --> Accessories -->
Address Book |
|
Description: Directory that keeps all your contacts info. |

Instruction:
Simply click on "New". You'll see another menu with the
choices: New Contact, New Group, New Folder. New Contact is
the actual information about the person. New Group is when you
divide your contacts into different groups like "Church, Market,
Customers, etc.". New Folder is when you want to get even more
vague like "Business, Family, Friends". Simply click the
one you want to add. Then fill as much information you like.
That's it. Next time you need to look for a number, simply
click "Find" and fill out some keywords. |

Tip: You might want to back-up these important information on
a several disks every update. To backup, simply choose File
menu, Export, Address Book (WAB)..., and choose the filename.
Then choose the disk location (3.5 Floppy A:) by clicking the "Save
in" drop menu. Click save and your done! To open a back
up file choose the File menu, Import, Address Book (WAB)..., choose
the disk location in "Look in", then choose the filename. Then
click open. |

Calculator |
| Location: Start --> All Programs --> Accessories -->
Calculator |

Description: A program that has all the functions of a
Scientific Calculator. |
| Instruction: Works like a traditional calculator. You
could use your number-pad or your mouse (make sure your Num Lock is
on when using the number pad). The only difference is the
asterisk ( * ) is the multiplication and the slash ( / ) is the
division. The x^2 means squaring. ( ^ ) key is used to
power. So 3^2 would be 9. |
| Tip: Click on the View Menu and you can choose to view it
standard or scientific. Scientific view has Radians, squaring,
cubing, etc. |

CD
Player |

Location: Start --> All Programs --> Accessories -->
Entertainment --> CD Player |
|
Description: Why pay $300 for a stereo to play a CD when your
computer can already do it? It's a standard CD Playing
software that comes with everything you need. Now you can play
some background music at no extra cost. |

Instruction: Works exactly like a normal CD Player except for
a few newer features. You can skip to any track you want my
clicking the Track button. |

Tip: Want to get rid of the annoying Internet download?
Simply click Options and choose Preferences. Click on the
"Album Options" tab and uncheck all three options: "Enable Internet
album information download.", "Prompt me before attempting Internet
download.", and "Enable album download batching." Then click
ok. |

Fax Console |

Location: Start --> All Programs --> Accessories -->
Communications --> Fax --> Fax Console |

Description: Send and receive fax through your computer! |
Instruction: If you're running it for the first time, you'll get
the Fax Configuration Wizard. Follow the instructions and fill in
the necessary company details. You'll then see the console.
Click on the button that looks like this: .
This will create a new Fax to send. Fill in the details you want
and follow the directions. Click on the button that looks like
this: . This lets you receive fax
through your computer modem. |

Tip: You can create a professional-looking Cover letter by using
the cover letter program. Located in the same Fax folder is a Fax
Cover Page Editor. |

WordPad |
|
Location - Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> WordPad |
|
Description: Can't afford Microsoft Word? WordPad does
all the commonly used functions of Microsoft Word and it's free. |
|
Instruction: Works exactly like Microsoft Word except it
saves under an ".rtf" file. All that means is it uses more
space. You can open a saved file from Microsoft Word. |

Tip: Double check your spelling because WordPad does not come
with those red underlines or spellcheck. |
